A Message From Grimes Regarding COVID-19

We understand that this is a stressful and difficult time for everyone in our community and we all have to get creative!

Here at Grimes Events & Party Tents, we are fortunate to own a state-of-the-art, high temperature, environmentally friendly tent washing machine. We are able to keep our tent tops perfectly white without any mold or mildew.

In addition to washing our own inventory, in the past we have serviced a select number of clients, like the FL Department of Health and Rapids Water Park in cleaning and sanitizing their tops.

During this slow time, we are offering to clean, sanitize, dry, and fold any tents, cabanas, outdoor furniture/boat/RV covers. We offer 12 and 24-hour turnaround. Additionally, we offer sewing and repair services.

Tops that are regularly cleaned and maintained with the proper techniques don’t just look better, they remain in good condition for longer, giving you a better return on investment.

5 Common Questions About Event Rental Installations

When considering tents for weddings and events, it’s important to know what to expect with the installation process, specifically timeline and pricing. We know that the foundation for a successful event lies in the preparation and planning, so we want to help simplify the installation process by answering the 5 most common questions that we receive.

Do you set up and break down the rental products?

Our delivery/ pick-up teams will set up and break down several of our rental products at no additional charge, including tents, bars, cooking equipment, dance floors, staging, and lighting. We can perform chair setup and breakdown, as well as table setup and breakdown services at an additional cost. Those services can be added at any point in the process before delivery.

What is your standard rental period?

The price of our rental equipment includes a 72-hour rental period. Should you need to keep our products longer than 72 hours, additional charges will apply.

Do you deliver?

Yes, we do offer delivery. When you request a delivery, you will be given either a morning (8 am-12 pm) or an afternoon (1 pm-6 pm) delivery window. Delivery rates will vary depending on delivery specifics and location.

What do I need to do to get ready for you to install the tent rental?

When installing a tent, the first step our crews take is to spread it flat on the ground in the area where it will be. Please have this area completely clear of obstructions before we arrive at the job site.

How will my tent be secured?

Grass – when setting up your tent, we typically drive a 42” stake into the grass in 2 places at each corner and 1 at each additional leg. The stakes will be approximately 4 feet away from the tent, with a white strap running from the top of the tent to the stake itself.

Asphalt – We will have to drill 1.5” diameter holes at each place that we need a stake. We can then drive our stakes in the ground, just the same as if we were setting up on grass. When we come back to pick up the tent, we will patch all holes with either asphalt patches or a plug.

Concrete – We will drill ½” diameter holes to secure your tent with concrete anchors. Our straps will run from the top of the tent down to the concrete anchors. When we pick up the tent, we will patch all holes with concrete patches, however we cannot guarantee an exact color match.

Other – If your tent is going on any surface that we are not allowed to drill through or drive stakes, we secure your tent with either cement weights or 55-gallon water barrels. To ensure that we have the proper equipment on-site, please contact us prior to booking your event. There will be an additional fee to secure any tent that we cannot stake.

As any seasoned event professional will tell you, no two events are the same. Between weather conditions, permits, and the number of guests, an event can easily become complex and overwhelming. Since details are the backbone of any event, it’s necessary to know how to handle them and ensure nothing slips through the cracks.

What is Consulting?

Grimes Events & Party Tents offers a Consulting service, where we can do computer-aided design (CAD) planning and help create a vision for your event. We can also give you a list of preferred vendors for any vertical, including catering, flowers, DJs, and more! With the front of the house having over 80 years of real-world event experience and the back of house having over 100 years of combined event and install experience, we can help you understand how each piece in the event comes together and offer guidance on how to make your event a success. We believe in the importance of this service because an event can only be as successful as it is planned to be. By offering a Consulting service, we help you make the decisions that allow us to make your event successful.

What If We Need More?

During the Consulting part of the process, we may find that you need an event planner. That will be helpful in the day-to-day communications between you and your vendors. Your event planner can take our vision and help bring it to life.

Delray Beach Fashion Week: Behind the Scenes

Fashion Week is a massive fashion show event that takes place right in the heart of Downtown Delray Beach. There are several runway shows over the course of Fashion Week, featuring the work of local designers with varying styles.

Grimes Events & Party Tents has played a role in Delray Beach Fashion Week for 6 years. We create the most important piece of the fashion shows – the runways! We take great care in setting up the runway stages, as they must be both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

What would a runway show be without seats for the audience? We also set up the accompanying chairs that surround the stage. These White Padded Chairs were used in last year’s Fashion Week.

Although the runway stages are a crucial part of Fashion Week, we also set up gorgeous pipe and drape for the lounge areas. To set some great mood lighting, we incorporate Edison Bulb Café / Bistro Lighting between the pipe and drape. To organize the space and give the area a VIP boost, we added stanchions.

This year, we are proud to be a Silver Sponsor for Fashion Week 2020! The show takes place January 29 – February 2, right on time for the Big Game itself held here in Florida. We can’t wait to set up the runways, chairs for this incredible event. Game on!
